30 years of calm,
in one programme

My name is Emma Hingston. I am a qualified Maternity Nurse with 30 years of experience working with newborns and new families across the UK and internationally. My qualifications include the globally recognised NNEB (National Nursery Nurse Examination Board) and Post-natal Maternity Nurse Care – Level 4 from Babyem.

After 23 years in Hong Kong, I returned to the UK in 2020 and began refining what I'd always done intuitively into a structured, repeatable approach: the It's as Easy as 1 2 3 Method. It is a no-cry system where a baby's needs are anticipated and understood from the start — creating calm for your baby and confidence for you.

What parents say

Emma’s “It’s as easy as 1 2 3” method is simply brilliant and brilliantly simple. It is utterly foolproof – even at my most sleep deprived, I was able to follow it – and it is failsafe. The worst feeling as a new mother is not knowing what is wrong with your baby. If you follow the 1 2 3 method, you always know what the problem is and are able to resolve it quickly."

Daisy, London

My husband and I were big fans of Emma’s “It’s as easy as 1 2 3” method when caring for our first baby. It helped us to understand and anticipate his needs and it meant that he was happy and slept well from an early age."

Louisa, London

Emma was indispensable when we were in the trenches of those first six weeks. To have someone so calm and experienced to guide and support us made it a time we will treasure. We have stayed in touch and it is a relief to know that she is available for remote advice if we need."

Hetty, London

Emma’s 1 2 3 method was simple and gave us something to focus on, but also flexible enough to adapt to what the day threw at us. With Emma’s support, we established a great routine for our daughter which should lay the foundations for the months and years ahead."

Lucy, London

Although Emma supported us remotely, through phone calls and messages and had only met our baby a few times, her impact was extraordinary. She was calm, measured and endlessly reassuring when everything can feel overwhelming. Most of all, she gave us, as first time parents, the confidence we so badly needed. Our baby was not the easiest case, dealing with a dairy intolerance and severe reflux, which made things particularly challenging in the early days. Emma navigated this with total ease and practical clarity, tailoring her advice in a way that genuinely worked for us."

Adda & Tamara, London

Emma and her “It’s as easy as 1 2 3” method was my saviour when I had my first baby. I felt pretty overwhelmed by all the different information and advice I received, and this helped me to clearly understand Mary’s needs and to find a nice little routine that worked for us both. Simple to follow and remember even when you are exhausted, it got us through those first few weeks….and months! Thank you, Emma."

Alice, London

Emma gave us exactly what every new parent hopes for – calm, clarity and a simple approach that genuinely works. Her “It's as easy as 1–2–3” method lives up to its name: clear, structured and incredibly effective from the very beginning. With both of our children, she helped us establish a consistent rhythm for feeding and sleep within the first few weeks, removing any sense of guesswork or uncertainty. Her guidance is practical, reassuring and easy to follow, even in those early, sleep-deprived days. As a father, I found Emma’s approach particularly valuable – she brought a level of confidence and structure that made those early weeks feel far more manageable. The results speak for themselves: two children who sleep well, eat well and are, most importantly, happy little characters. Emma’s approach builds strong foundations that last well beyond the newborn stage. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Emma to any parent looking for a straightforward, proven way to set their baby up for great sleep and feeding habits from the start."

Paddy - London

Emma stayed with our family for six days and nights and even in this short period she was instrumental in getting our family into a manageable pattern of feeding and sleeping. Her suggestions are so simple to follow and implement - best of all they seem to be exactly what our baby naturally wanted to do. We are all calmer and more settled, life is more predictable and our baby is better fed and happier than ever! We highly recommend her services and expertise. "

Emma's It's as easy as 1,2,3 plan made everything make sense at a time when it’s hard to get your head around much at all!”

Common questions

Will this work for my baby?+

Yes — the 1 2 3 Method works for every baby because it follows a baby's natural rhythms. It helps parents understand their baby's cues and respond accordingly.

Why choose this over other methods?+

This is a proven model refined over 30 years with many babies and families. Unlike a book or generic online advice, this is a bespoke, progressive programme tailored specifically to your baby and family — with my personal oversight at every step.

How is this different from reading a parenting book or Googling?+

A book gives generic advice. I create a plan built around your baby's actual development and your family's needs. There's no conflicting advice — just consistent, week-by-week guidance from one trusted expert who knows your baby.

Please use the enquiry form below and I will be happy to point you in the right direction for specialist sleep consultancy support.

Can I add more support on top of the weekly calls?+

Yes — I offer text/email support, additional phone calls, and real-time WhatsApp support as paid add-ons. See the 'Additional Support' section for details and pricing.

What if I have already had my baby and their age doesn't match up with one of your plans?+

If you would like to join the program but your baby's age doesn't match up with one of the plans, then message me and we can work out a pro-rata plan.

Do you only offer online support?+

No, I also offer in-house 24 hour maternity nursing support (subject to availability). In fact, this is a very popular choice for new parents. Contact me to find out my availability.

I would like some in-house maternity support and then some on-line guidance for the remainder of the 12 weeks, is this something that you offer?+
