A gentle, developmentally appropriate 12-week programme that guides you through the early weeks — no crying it out, just responsive care tailored to you and your baby.
My name is Emma Hingston. I am a qualified Maternity Nurse with 30 years of experience working with newborns and new families across the UK and internationally. My qualifications include the globally recognised NNEB (National Nursery Nurse Examination Board) and Post-natal Maternity Nurse Care – Level 4 from Babyem.
After 23 years in Hong Kong, I returned to the UK in 2020 and began refining what I'd always done intuitively into a structured, repeatable approach: the It's as Easy as 1 2 3 Method. It is a no-cry system where a baby's needs are anticipated and understood from the start — creating calm for your baby and confidence for you.
Becoming a new parent can feel daunting. The "It's as Easy as 1 2 3" Method and 12-Week Plan remove the guesswork — guiding you gently and confidently through those precious early weeks.
A simple yet highly effective approach that helps your baby find a calm, natural rhythm from the very start.
Just three simple rules to follow throughout the day — helping you understand your baby's cues and respond calmly and intuitively.

If you have others (a nanny, housekeeper, Grandparents etc.) helping to care for your baby, I will visit to teach the 1 2 3 Method and cover safe sleeping, newborn care basics, sterilisation, milk storage and much more practical advice. — all in a single focused session.
Emma’s “It’s as easy as 1 2 3” method is simply brilliant and brilliantly simple. It is utterly foolproof – even at my most sleep deprived, I was able to follow it – and it is failsafe. The worst feeling as a new mother is not knowing what is wrong with your baby. If you follow the 1 2 3 method, you always know what the problem is and are able to resolve it quickly.
My husband and I were big fans of Emma’s “It’s as easy as 1 2 3” method when caring for our first baby. It helped us to understand and anticipate his needs and it meant that he was happy and slept well from an early age.
Emma was indispensable when we were in the trenches of those first six weeks. To have someone so calm and experienced to guide and support us made it a time we will treasure. We have stayed in touch and it is a relief to know that she is available for remote advice if we need.
Emma’s 1 2 3 method was simple and gave us something to focus on, but also flexible enough to adapt to what the day threw at us. With Emma’s support, we established a great routine for our daughter which should lay the foundations for the months and years ahead.
Although Emma supported us remotely, through phone calls and messages and had only met our baby a few times, her impact was extraordinary. She was calm, measured and endlessly reassuring when everything can feel overwhelming. Most of all, she gave us, as first time parents, the confidence we so badly needed. Our baby was not the easiest case, dealing with a dairy intolerance and severe reflux, which made things particularly challenging in the early days. Emma navigated this with total ease and practical clarity, tailoring her advice in a way that genuinely worked for us.
Emma and her “It’s as easy as 1 2 3” method was my saviour when I had my first baby. I felt pretty overwhelmed by all the different information and advice I received, and this helped me to clearly understand Mary’s needs and to find a nice little routine that worked for us both. Simple to follow and remember even when you are exhausted, it got us through those first few weeks….and months! Thank you, Emma.

A book gives generic advice. I create a plan built around your baby's actual development and your family's needs. There's no conflicting advice — just consistent, week-by-week guidance from one trusted expert who knows your baby.
