On the way to the doctors, we chatted about her experience of early motherhood and the conversations she’d been having with other mums from her NCT group. What she shared with me gave me a huge sense of reassurance that what I’m offering new parents is genuinely needed.
Let’s call my client “Jo.” As we walked, she told me about the other mums in her NCT group. Their babies are around three to four weeks older than hers, and they regularly stay in touch and meet up.
During those conversations, Jo realised something.
She was the only mum who felt she had found an enjoyable rhythm with her baby.
Her baby was sleeping longer stretches at night — often 7–8 hours, and increasing week by week, naturally and led by her baby. Daytime naps were going well too, including a lovely 2 hour lunchtime nap. She could confidently plan her days because there was a gentle predictability to life with her baby.
Meanwhile, many of her friends were only just beginning to think about introducing some form of routine and were surprised to hear that Jo had gently introduced rhythm from the very beginning.
Not a rigid, clock-watching routine.
Not pressure.
Not stress.
But a calm, baby-led rhythm that helped her baby feel secure — and helped Jo and her husband feel calm, confident and capable as new parents.
This is exactly why I created It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 method and The twelve week plan.
My goal is simple: to help normalise calm and enjoyment during those newborn weeks.
I want new parents to feel supported, not overwhelmed. To understand their baby, feel confident in their parenting, and gently create a rhythm that works for their family.
No cry-it-out.
No harsh rules.
No pressure.
Just calm, responsive, baby-led guidance from the very beginning.
Through my bespoke 12-week plan, I support new parents week by week — from everyday parenting questions to personalised guidance tailored specifically to each individual family.
My approach is built around three simple principles that work with your baby’s natural rhythm, not against it. It’s designed to feel achievable, realistic and flexible — even when life throws you “one of those days.”
What makes my approach different is that it offers a gentle middle ground.
Not rigid routines that leave parents feeling stressed or like they’ve failed.
But also not complete exhaustion and unpredictability.
Instead, a calm, structured, baby-led rhythm — with purpose.
And yes, with the added bonus of helping babies gradually sleep for longer stretches, with the aim of reaching 7pm–7am by around 12 weeks.
My long-term goal is simply to help as many new parents as possible experience calmer babies, more confidence, and a far more enjoyable start to family life.
If this sounds like something that may help you — or someone you know — I’d love to chat.
