About Me

I have always wanted to work with children, I have fulfilled a variety of roles as a teacher, nanny, childcare supervisor, proxy – parent and Maternity Nurse. Working with children is my vocation and my passion. I feel privileged that I am trusted with educating children and their parents within different environments. When I go to peoples’ houses, I am professional and respectful. I understand that it is their house and while I bring a wealth of experience, I also understand that people have their own ways of doing things, always taking into account their cultural and environmental background. I know that I bring a sense of calmness and happiness to any family that I join.

I am familiar with setting up routines, structure and boundaries within families that are looking for this. I am confident in my childcare knowledge and I strive to provide the best care for any child in my care, taking into account their physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. I have a good knowledge of child development which enables me to help children to achieve their developmental milestones, by providing activities and an environment for learning and stimulation. I am extremely safety conscious and I am able to anticipate and prevent difficult or dangerous situations arising. I have worked in HNW families and I am happy to work alongside other staff, I always get along with everyone and I am happy to share my childcare knowledge so that everyone becomes more confident and at ease within families. I am honest and straight forward, I like to communicate and to have feedback from the families I am working with.

From August 2020, after returning to the U.K. from living in Hong Kong for 23 years, I concentrated on working full-time as a self-employed 24-hour, live-in maternity nurse. This is when the “It’s as easy as 1,2,3 “method was created. I implemented my method time and time again with different babies and the babies I looked after got into an easy and smooth rhythm right from the start. The babies’ parents understood their baby’s cues and the method gave them the confidence to know how to look after their baby. New parents are able to plan their days right from the start and have some control. This is a no - cry system, as the baby’s needs are anticipated and understood from the start. I now want to share my “It’s as easy as 1,2,3 “method to benefit many more parents and their new babies.

Testimonials

Alice, London

“Emma and her ‘It’s as easy as 1,2,3 “method was my saviour when I had my first baby. I felt pretty overwhelmed by all the different information and advice I received, and this helped me to clearly understand Mary’s needs and to find a nice little routine that worked for us both. Simple to follow and remember even when you are exhausted, it got us through those first few weeks …..and months! Thank you, Emma.”

Daisy, London

“Emma’s “It’s as easy as 1,2,3” method is simply brilliant and brilliantly simple. It is utterly fool proof – even at my most sleep deprived, I was able to follow it – and it is failsafe. The worst feeling as a new mother is not knowing what is wrong with your baby. If you follow the 1,2,3 method, you always know what the problem is and are able to resolve it quickly.”

Louisa, London

“My husband and I were big fans of Emma’s “It’s as easy as 1,2,3” method when caring for our first baby. It helped us to understand and anticipate his needs and it meant that he was happy and slept well from a young age.”
